What your audience walks away with

  • Outcome

13 Things Mentally Strong People Don't Do — and the Plays to Run Instead (most requested)

Her signature keynote, refined over a decade on stage. Amy walks audiences through the thirteen habits that quietly drain mental strength — self-pity, giving away power, resenting others' success, expecting instant results — and pairs each one with a specific, research-backed play from her toolkit. Audiences leave knowing not just what to stop, but exactly what to do instead.

  • The Mental Strength Playbook

Drawn from her latest book, this program equips teams with practical tools for handling challenges, performing under pressure, and fostering innovation. Mental strength framed the way athletes think about physical strength: trainable, measurable, and built through deliberate reps.

  • Staying Strong Through Change

How individuals and teams stay mentally strong and lead through disruption when nothing feels predictable. A clear-eyed, research-backed look at building the resilience a moment of constant change demands.

  • Managing Stress at Work

A psychotherapist's take on workplace stress: how to recognize it early, respond to it well, and keep it from compounding into burnout — with tools people can apply in the middle of a hard week.

  • Building Burnout-Resistant Teams

For leaders: how to build teams that sustain high performance without burning out. The organizational habits that protect mental strength, and the ones that silently erode it.

  • 13 Things Mentally Strong Women Don't Do

For women's leadership summits: the unique challenges women face — comparison, self-doubt, seeing vulnerability as weakness — and the techniques to overcome the habits that block their potential.

The story

Who Amy actually is

Amy Morin is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), psychotherapist, and one of the most widely read voices on mental strength and resilience. In 2013 she wrote an article, "13 Things Mentally Strong People Don't Do," born from her own experience of profound loss; it went viral, was read by more than 50 million people, and a year later became the internationally bestselling book of the same name. Her books have since sold more than a million copies and been translated into over 40 languages, and her TEDx talk, "The Secret of Becoming Mentally Strong," has been viewed more than 25 million times — one of the most popular TEDx talks in history.

A practicing therapist and college psychology instructor, Morin served as editor-in-chief of Verywell Mind, one of the largest mental-health resources online, and hosts the top-ranked podcast Mentally Stronger with Therapist Amy Morin. She is the author of six books, including 13 Things Mentally Strong Parents Don't Do (2017), 13 Things Mentally Strong Women Don't Do (2019), 13 Things Strong Kids Do (2021), 13 Things Mentally Strong Couples Don't Do (2024), and The Mental Strength Playbook (2026). The Guardian has called her "the self-help guru of the moment," Inc. named her one of its Top 100 Leadership Speakers, and Forbes hailed her as a "thought leadership star."

As a keynote speaker, Morin has worked with organizations including Google, Johnson & Johnson, Adobe, Chick-fil-A, Cisco, Under Armour, Northwestern Mutual, CrowdStrike, and the MA Conference for Women, and her advice has been featured across Good Morning America, Today, Oprah, Time, Fast Company, CNN, CNBC, Fox News, and the BBC. She lives in the Florida Keys, where she records her podcast from a sailboat — a fitting detail for someone whose work is about staying steady when conditions change.
