Signature keynotes

What your audience walks away with

  • Outcome

The Culture Map — Breaking Through the Invisible Boundaries of Global Business

Her signature framework, brought to life. Using the eight scales — from how cultures communicate and give feedback to how they build trust and make decisions — Erin shows your team where the real friction lives and how to bridge it. The rare culture keynote that hands people a tool, not just an insight.

  • No Rules Rules — Netflix and the Culture of Reinvention

The management model she wrote with Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings: freedom and responsibility, radical candor, and high talent density. How Netflix removed rules to move faster — and how organizations of any size can adapt the parts that fit.

  • Our Multicultural World — Decoding Cross-Cultural Complexity

How globalization reshapes every professional interaction, and how leaders build genuine cultural fluency into everyday practice — hiring, feedback, negotiation, and decision-making across borders.

  • Leading Virtual & Hybrid Teams Across Cultures

Navigating cross-cultural complexity without leaving your desk — when a leader may interview a candidate in São Paulo, run a meeting in Stockholm, and lead a program across India in a single morning. Practical moves for distributed, multi-cultural teams.

  • Culture in the Age of AI (current)

Applying the eight dimensions to a workplace being reshaped by generative AI — how AI is remaking culture as much as workflows, and why questions of recognition, trust, and accountability now take center stage.

The story

Who Erin actually is

Erin Meyer was born in Minnesota in 1971 and has spent most of her adult life in Europe and Africa — an arc that began, improbably, in the Peace Corps. Sent to Botswana to teach English, she became fascinated by how differently people from different cultures reason, lead, and get things done. That question became her career.

Before academia she worked in the United States with immigrant communities and then in corporate leadership — as Director of Training & Development at HBOC and Director of Business Operations at McKesson — before joining INSEAD, one of the world's leading international business schools, where she is a Professor of Management Practice in the Organizational Behaviour department and program director of its flagship "Leading Across Borders and Cultures" program. She has trained thousands of executives across five continents.

In 2014 she published _The Culture Map: Breaking Through the Invisible Boundaries of Global Business_, a research-based framework — drawn from data across roughly thirty countries — that identifies eight scales on which cultures diverge, from how they communicate and give feedback to how they build trust and keep time. It became a global reference for anyone leading across cultures. In 2020 she co-wrote _No Rules Rules: Netflix and the Culture of Reinvention_ with Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings — a New York Times bestseller shortlisted for the Financial Times & McKinsey Business Book of the Year.

A frequent Harvard Business Review contributor and repeatedly named to the Thinkers50 ranking of the world's most influential business thinkers (including the 2025 top 50), Erin lives in Paris. Her current work extends the eight dimensions to a workplace being reshaped by artificial intelligence — arguing that AI is remaking culture as much as it is remaking workflows.
