Signature keynotes

What your audience walks away with

  • Outcome

An Evening with Bill Nye / Ask the Science Guy

His signature experience: part keynote, part conversation. Bill tells the story of how a Boeing engineer became "The Science Guy," makes the case for why science matters more than ever, and then opens the floor — answering the audience's real questions with the humor, demonstrations, and clarity that made him a household name. Endlessly customizable and the surest crowd-pleaser on the menu.

  • Science, Curiosity & the Power of Critical Thinking

Bill's most portable message for any organization: curiosity is a superpower and critical thinking is a skill you can build. Drawing on Everything All at Once, he shows how "nerd" habits — asking questions, reasoning from evidence, designing solutions — help teams and individuals solve hard problems, and why "everyone you will ever meet knows something you don't" is the most useful thing a leader can believe.

  • Climate Change: The Science and the Solutions

From his best-seller Unstoppable, Bill lays out the state of the climate crisis with an engineer's clarity and an optimist's resolve. He separates what the science actually says from the noise, and makes a technological-optimist case for what innovation, policy, and ordinary action can still achieve — a talk that leaves audiences informed, not paralyzed.

  • Space Exploration & Why It Matters

As Chief Ambassador of The Planetary Society — the organization co-founded by his old professor Carl Sagan — Bill brings the wonder and the stakes of space exploration to life: planetary science, solar sailing with LightSail, the search for life, and why, in the Society's words, "space brings out the best in us." A soaring, awe-driven keynote for science and innovation audiences.

  • Engineering, Innovation & Design Thinking

The mechanical engineer behind the bow tie. Bill draws on his Boeing years and a lifetime of building things to show how design, iteration, and "everything all at once" problem-solving drive real innovation — and how any team can think more like an engineer to turn ideas into things that actually work.

  • STEM Education & Inspiring the Next Generation

The mission that has defined Bill Nye's career: making science engaging, accessible, and joyful, so the next generation sees STEM as a door rather than a wall. Ideal for education initiatives, universities, commencements, and any organization investing in the scientists, engineers, and critical thinkers of the future.

The story

Who Bill actually is

Bill Nye is one of the most recognizable science communicators in the world — the Emmy-winning host of "Bill Nye the Science Guy," a mechanical engineer, a best-selling author, and a lifelong advocate for science, climate action, and space exploration. Born William Sanford Nye in 1955, he earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Cornell University in 1977, where he studied astronomy under Carl Sagan, and went on to spend more than two decades as an engineer for Boeing and other firms — work that included inventing a hydraulic resonance suppressor tube used on Boeing 747 aircraft.

Nye's on-camera career began on the Seattle sketch-comedy show "Almost Live!," where the "Science Guy" character was born. That character became "Bill Nye the Science Guy," the syndicated and PBS educational series that ran from 1993 to 1998 and was nominated for 23 Emmy Awards, winning 19. He later hosted "The Eyes of Nye," Netflix's "Bill Nye Saves the World" (2017–2018), and "The End Is Nye" (2022), and he is the New York Times–best-selling author of Undeniable (2014), Unstoppable (2015), and Everything All at Once (2017), along with many children's science books.

Beyond television, Nye has been the driving public voice of The Planetary Society, the world's largest independent space-advocacy organization, co-founded by his former professor Carl Sagan. A charter member since 1980, he served as its Chief Executive Officer from 2010 to 2026; in February 2026 he transitioned into the roles of Chief Ambassador and Vice Chairman of the Board, continuing to represent the organization's mission of space exploration and science through media, advocacy, and events.

In January 2025, Bill Nye was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom — the nation's highest civilian honor — recognizing a career spent making science understandable and exciting for millions. On stage, that is exactly what he does: whether the subject is climate, space, engineering, or the simple habit of thinking clearly, he leaves audiences more curious, more capable, and more optimistic than he found them.
