Chasing Life, A Smarter, Sharper, Healthier Path to Longevity & Wellbeing
The science of living longer and better. Drawing on neuroscience, his global reporting, and his book Keep Sharp, Dr. Gupta shows how longevity and brain health come down to a set of daily, evidence-based choices, and hands the audience the ones that matter most.
It Doesn't Have to Hurt, Living With Less Pain
From his 2025 book of the same name: new, science-based approaches to managing pain without dependence. A timely, deeply human keynote for healthcare audiences and any organization thinking about the wellbeing of its people.
Medicine and the Media, Trust, Truth & Health Misinformation
How health news is made, why misinformation spreads, and how to be a smarter consumer of medical information. Drawn from a career at the intersection of medicine and journalism, and the theme of his 2026 keynote to the American Psychiatric Association.

What the last global health crisis taught us and how organizations and communities can be ready for the next, drawn from his frontline reporting and World War C.

The story
Who Sanjay actually is
Sanjay Gupta, MD, was born in Novi, Michigan, in 1969. He earned his undergraduate degree and his medical degree at the University of Michigan, completed his neurosurgery training there, and served as a White House Fellow early in his career. Today he is Associate Chief of Neurosurgery at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta and Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at the Emory University School of Medicine, a practicing surgeon, not a former one. Since 2001 he has been the Chief Medical Correspondent for CNN, reporting from operating rooms and from disasters and conflict zones around the world, Iraq, where he performed brain surgery in the field; Haiti; Japan; Puerto Rico; and the front line of the COVID-19 pandemic. His journalism has won multiple Emmy Awards, and he has been elected to both the National Academy of Medicine (2019) and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (2021), a pairing of honors almost no other physician-journalist holds. Dr. Gupta is the author of a series of New York Times bestsellers, Chasing Life, Cheating Death, the novel Monday Mornings, Keep Sharp: Build a Better Brain at Any Age, World War C: Lessons from the Covid-19 Pandemic, and, in 2025, It Doesn't Have to Hurt: Your Smart Guide to a Pain-Free Life. He hosts CNN's Chasing Life podcast and remains one of the most recognized and trusted voices in the world on health, the brain, and living well.
