What your audience walks away with
- Outcome
The Forever Paycheck — A New Retirement Strategy (current flagship)
Drawn from her forthcoming book written in collaboration with AARP, this talk reframes retirement planning around a "Forever Paycheck" — converting savings into a guaranteed monthly income stream so people can spend with confidence instead of white-knuckling a withdrawal rate for thirty years. Jean walks audiences through how to think about their own money personality, build a plan that fits it, and understand why steady income (not just a lump sum) is linked to greater confidence and better long-term outcomes.
Women & Money — Closing the Gap
Women face a distinct set of financial realities: a persistent pay gap, longer average life expectancy, and — as Jean has observed across three decades of reporting — a cultural reluctance to talk about money at all. This talk lays out the specific, practical steps women (and the organizations that support them) can take to close the gap: understanding what you have, building confidence around investing, and making money a subject you can talk about out loud.
AgeProof — The Health-Wealth Connection
Based on her book with Dr. Michael Roizen, this talk draws the parallel between physical and financial health: the same habits — assessing where you actually stand, automating the good decisions, building the right team around you, and planning for resilience — build both. A natural fit for wellness-benefits programs that want to connect the "health" and "wealth" halves of employee well-being.
5 Steps to Lasting Financial Resilience
A practical, seven-point framework spanning savings, investing, insurance, and estate and charitable planning — built for audiences who want a concrete action plan, not just inspiration, to take back to their desks.
Money 911 — Your Top Money Questions, Solved
A live, Q&A-driven format built around the personal-finance questions Jean has fielded most over three decades on air — from credit and debt to investing basics — with real-time "money makeover" moments for volunteers from the audience.
For Financial Professionals — What the Wealthiest, Most Successful People Do Differently
Drawn from her research into more than 5,000 self-made wealthy individuals, this version is built for financial advisors and wealth-management audiences: the specific, learnable habits that separate people who build lasting wealth from those who don't.
The story
Who Jean actually is
Jean Chatzky is a personal-finance journalist, broadcaster, and entrepreneur who spent 25 years as the financial editor of NBC's Today show, translating money news into daily, actionable guidance for a national television audience. Before that, she built her reporting career at Working Woman, Forbes, SmartMoney, and Money magazine, and spent time in equity research at Dean Witter Reynolds — a background that grounds her television and stage work in real financial-industry experience, not just headlines.
In 2018, she founded HerMoney Media, a company built to change the relationship people — especially women — have with money, and she continues to serve as its CEO. HerMoney produces a weekly podcast, newsletters, and original content across seven areas of financial life: earning, saving, investing, protecting, borrowing, connecting, and enjoying. Through HerMoney she also launched two coaching programs, FinanceFixx and InvestingFixx, and an on-demand video course platform, Money School.
She currently serves as AARP's personal finance ambassador and an education fellow for the Alliance for Lifetime Income, hosting AARP's Closing the Savings Gap podcast, which follows real women working to close their own retirement savings gaps. She is a nine-time bestselling author whose books include Pay It Down!, Make Money, Not Excuses, The Difference, Money Rules, AgeProof (co-authored with Dr. Michael Roizen, a New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestseller), and Women with Money. Her newest book, The Forever Paycheck, written in collaboration with AARP, publishes in September 2026 and lays out a new approach to spending confidently in retirement.
Over her career Jean has been honored with the Clarion Award, the Gracie Award, and the Betty Furness Consumer Media Service Award for her work in personal-finance education. She continues to host the weekly HerMoney with Jean Chatzky podcast and remains an active voice on the financial questions people are asking right now — from the impact of AI on jobs and money to the realities of retirement income.
