What your audience walks away with

The Psychology of Money — Why Behavior Beats Knowledge (signature keynote)
Drawn from his global bestseller, this is Morgan's foundational case: financial outcomes are shaped far more by behavior, patience, and perspective than by technical skill. Through short, memorable stories, he shows why the smartest person in the room doesn't always win with money — and why anyone can get better at the parts that matter.
What Never Changes — Timeless Lessons for an Uncertain World
Built on Same as Ever, this talk flips the usual question. Instead of asking what will change next, Morgan asks what never does — the recurring human behaviors, from overconfidence to the craving for a good story, that repeat across every market cycle and every era. A keynote for leaders and investors who want durable judgment, not the next hot take.
The Art of Spending Money — Redefining a Rich Life (current flagship)
From his newest book, this talk turns from building wealth to actually using it well. Morgan explores the psychology of envy, social status, and contentment — and why more money, on its own, so rarely buys a better life. No budgets, no hacks: a genuinely fresh way to think about what money is for.
Risk, Luck, and the Stories We Tell Ourselves About Money
A talk built around one of Morgan's recurring themes: how randomness and narrative shape financial outcomes as much as skill does. Ideal for investor, advisor, and leadership audiences who want a sharper, more honest way to think about risk.
Building Financial Resilience and Long-Term Wealth
Practical behavioral principles — patience, margin of safety, the quiet power of compounding — distilled into a talk built for financial-wellness programs and general corporate audiences, not just finance professionals.
Get Rich, Stay Rich
Morgan's own framing: the skills it takes to build wealth are different from the skills it takes to keep it. A keynote for investor and wealth-management audiences on why so many people who get rich don't stay that way — and what changes when the goal shifts from growth to preservation.
The story
Who Morgan actually is
Morgan Housel is a partner at The Collaborative Fund and a board member of Markel Group, and one of the most widely read writers on the psychology of money working today. He built his reputation over a decade as a columnist and senior analyst at The Motley Fool and as a columnist for The Wall Street Journal, earning two Best in Business Awards from the Society of American Business Editors and Writers, a New York Times Sidney Award, and two finalist nods for the Gerald Loeb Award for Distinguished Business and Financial Journalism along the way. He holds a degree in economics from the University of Southern California and lives in Seattle with his family.
In 2020 he distilled that decade of financial journalism into The Psychology of Money: Timeless Lessons on Wealth, Greed, and Happiness, a book that argued financial success has far less to do with intelligence or technical skill than with behavior, patience, and perspective. It became a global word-of-mouth phenomenon, and by his own count his books have since sold more than 12 million copies in over 60 languages. He followed it in 2023 with the instant New York Times bestseller Same as Ever: A Guide to What Never Changes, twenty-four short stories about the behaviors — envy, overconfidence, the pull of a good story — that repeat across markets and history no matter the era.
In October 2025 he published his third book, The Art of Spending Money: Simple Choices for a Richer Life, which he has described as the one that affected him most personally. Where his earlier work focused on building wealth, this one turns to a subject he found strangely under-covered: how to actually use money well, without budgets or one-size-fits-all formulas, to build a genuinely richer life.
Beyond his books, Morgan is a partner at The Collaborative Fund, a venture firm investing across consumer, climate, and technology companies, and he sits on the board of Markel Group. He hosts his own ongoing show, and in the years since his breakout book he has remained a regular guest across the top interview and business podcasts, most recently discussing the ideas in The Art of Spending Money.
