The story
Who Jay actually is
Jay Baer is a business-growth and customer-experience strategist, a Hall of Fame keynote speaker, and the founder of Convince & Convert, an advisory firm whose clients have included Oracle, Salesforce, and dozens of the world's best-known brands. A self-described 7th-generation entrepreneur, he has founded five multimillion-dollar companies and spent three decades helping more than 700 iconic brands — among them Nike, Oracle, Salesforce, and the United Nations, along with 40 Fortune 500 companies — win customers and keep them.
Baer is the author of seven books on marketing and customer experience. His 2013 title _Youtility: Why Smart Marketing Is About Help Not Hype_ was a New York Times bestseller and helped redefine modern content marketing around a single idea: make your marketing so useful that people would pay for it. He followed it with _Hug Your Haters_ (2016), the first book on customer-service disruption; _Talk Triggers_ (2018, with Daniel Lemin), on engineering word of mouth; and _The Time to Win_ (2022), on responsiveness as a competitive advantage. His earlier _The Now Revolution_ (2011, with Amber Naslund) mapped the shift to a faster, more social business.
For his work he has been inducted into both the Professional Speakers Hall of Fame and the Word of Mouth Marketing Hall of Fame, and has been named a Global Guru in marketing and customer experience. A prolific media maker, he has hosted more than 800 podcast episodes across seven shows, including the twice-#1-ranked Social Pros, and publishes the widely read Baer Facts newsletter on customer experience in the age of AI. Off the clock, Baer is also — improbably and by his own cheerful admission — one of the world's most-followed tequila influencers, which tells you something about the energy he brings to a stage.
