Signature keynotes

What your audience walks away with

  • Outcome

How to Create an Amazing Customer Experience

His signature keynote: the mindset, moments, and methods that turn ordinary service into experiences customers talk about — and come back for. Practical, immediately usable, and built on decades of research.

  • The Convenience Revolution — Reducing Friction

From his book of the same name: how the most successful companies win by being the easiest to do business with, and the specific ways any organization can strip friction out of the customer journey.

  • Maximizing AI's Impact on Customer Experience

Where AI genuinely improves service — speed, efficiency, self-service — and where the human connection still decides loyalty. Grounded in his annual Achieving Customer Amazement study.

  • Be Amazing or Go Home

The daily habits of amazing people and organizations — how to make "amazing" a repeatable standard rather than an occasional accident.

  • Creating a Customer Service Culture

Why external service is only as good as internal service: how the way employees are treated (and treat each other) determines the experience the customer ultimately gets.

  • The Cult of the Customer

Moving customers along the experience continuum — from uncertain, to satisfied, to genuinely loyal evangelists who bring you their friends.

The story

Who Shep actually is

Shep Hyken is a customer-service and customer-experience expert and the Chief Amazement Officer of Shepard Presentations, the St. Louis-based speaking and consulting firm he founded in 1983. Over four decades he has become one of the world's most recognized authorities on customer service, loyalty, and CX, working with hundreds of organizations — from Fortune 100 companies such as Amazon, IBM, Mastercard, American Airlines, FedEx, and Lexus to small businesses — to help them build experiences that keep customers coming back.

Hyken is a New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author of eight books, including _Moments of Magic_ (1993), _The Cult of the Customer_ (2009), _The Amazement Revolution_ (2011), _Amaze Every Customer Every Time_ (2013), _Be Amazing or Go Home_ (2017), _The Convenience Revolution_ (2018), and _I'll Be Back: How to Get Customers to Come Back Again & Again_ (2021). Each year he publishes the Achieving Customer Amazement study, a national research report on evolving customer expectations that supplies the data behind his keynotes — findings such as customers' willingness to pay more for better service, and their belief that great service now outweighs price.

For his lifetime achievement in professional speaking, Hyken has been inducted into the National Speakers Association Hall of Fame and holds both the CSP (Certified Speaking Professional) and CPAE designations. He is the creator of The Customer Focus, a customer-service training program, writes a weekly newsletter (the Shepard Letter) and a long-running Forbes column, and is known on stage for pairing serious operational substance with a genuinely entertaining, high-energy delivery.
